Research area:
Kazi Aminul Islam’s research interests include artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), image processing, and cybersecurity. With the advancement of AI technology, it is used in every part of life, e.g.: social media, emails, finance, autonomous vehicle, internet of things (IoT), and surveillance. It is used for making important decisions to extract important knowledge from data. Although AI has achieved state-of-the-art performances, they can be easily deceived by simple modification of the data. Hackers can also bypass AI-based security systems by using perturbed data or poisoning the model. His research interest lies in making these machine learning models more robust, secured, and protected from these attacks. Specifically, his goal is to prevent adversarial attacks and develop defensive mechanisms.
